Never one to be too political I do find that trashing the beaches is totally disgusting and allowing alcoholic beverages is not a good idea! So glad we have City Commissioners on Miami Beach like Jerry Libbin. This was a video I made for him for his re-election campaign. I totally agree that some butts are bad!

RETNA by Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton edited this video featuring three graffiti artists they worked with to create some pretty cool merchandise. I shot all the footage of RETNA and none of the others. This edit came from the creative folks at Louis Vuitton Paris and they used some statements I was not allowed to use. Love the Parisians for staying on the cutting edge and embracing some pretty “dope” graffiti artists. See the video on the Louis Vuitton site.

Mandarin Oriental’s Five-Star Moment

The Mandarin Oriental, Miami has been awarded a five star rating and now with the spa and restaurant sharing the rating – the Mandarin Oriental, Miami is the only triple five star rated property not only in Miami but in the entire State of Florida.

I directed and produced this press release video and soon three more videos will be released featuring the hotel, the spa and the restaurant! Stay tuned for some elegant visuals!

Pop Icons and Nude Metal Works

Lately I have been experimenting with making images on metal comprised of “dots”. I see them as grain. The kind of grain you find on film. Focusing on pop icons and nudes I will show a few images on metal for the first time during the Wynnwood Art Walk, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Eleazar Delgado’s Studio at 2703 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127. Also on exhibit will be some of the Andy Warhol “Model Boy” prints and images from the RETNA series for Louis Vuitton. I’ll be there at 4pm and will hang around till around 9pm. Come early to beat the crowds.

Louis Vuitton – Retna Installation

So today I went into the Louis Vuitton store in the Miami Design District and installed three photographs while John looked on. Simon from the 22 Group really helped out – without him I could not have hung my prints. Now when you walk up the stairs to the VIP section you will see the prints and when you are at the top of the stairs you really get to see the prints in a grand way. I am so happy and honored to have my work on display in this incredible location. Go check it out and while you’re there buy a bag!

My latest collector is Louis Vuitton and they have purchased three prints that will hang is a very prestigious spot here in Miami. I call these prints “Bandido Retna“, “Blue Retna” and “Lil Brusier“. All are with my framers. Cannot wait till we install!

Retna in the Eye of Art

A new LOUIS VUITTON temporary store opened on October 19, 2012 in Miami’s Design District. Graffiti artist RETNA collaborates with the House for the occasion. Born in Los Angeles in 1979 artist RETNA creates work blending the use of photography with paint graffiti. The style takes influences from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics as well as Arabic, Hebrew and Asian calligraphy combining elements from the past present and future. RETNA’s work is impressive using text and images to expand the boundaries of painting and confound visual interpretation. His compositions are powerful fusing various types of media starting with a precise optic point and improvising quickly to form a final piece.

As part of a collaboration with LOUIS VUITTON which also involves pattern designs for an upcoming collection of textiles RETNA will paint the façade of the new store the week before the opening. RETNA himself explains his artworks origins and visual universe is artistic identity shaped by California contemporary street art and how he found inspiration from the Miami Design District neighborhoods look and feel for this piece. Through this artistic collaboration Louis Vuitton draws attention to an original creative process and highlights it’s involvement within the world of art. I was there to document the process and this is one of my videos.
